Hi — I’m Britt. Your esthi bestie.

For years, I worked as a licensed esthetician at Golden Door — one of the most respected wellness retreats in the world, trusted by celebrities and high-profile clients who expected real results. I was surrounded by people who were doing everything right.

They invested in beautiful skincare. They used professional haircare. They followed their routines carefully and consistently.

And they were still struggling.

Dry, tight skin after every shower
Dull, frizzy, unmanageable hair
Irritation that wouldn’t calm down
Breakage, shedding, and loss of shine

Not because they were careless. Not because their products weren’t good enough. But because of something most people never think to question: their water.

“Your routine can only work as well as your water allows it to.”

Over time, I noticed the same pattern again and again. Clients would switch products, upgrade their routines, try new treatments. Their results stayed frustratingly flat — until we changed one thing: what their skin and hair were actually being rinsed with.

Once chlorine exposure and mineral buildup were addressed, everything shifted.

Skin felt calmer and more hydrated
Hair became softer and shinier
Irritation faded — without new products
Skincare finally started working again

That’s when it clicked. The shower isn’t just where you get clean. It’s the foundation that everything else is built on.

I also know this personally. I’ve lived with psoriasis for over a decade. I understand what it’s like to spend money on products, follow every piece of advice, and still feel like your skin is working against you. That experience shaped how I think about skin — and why I believe so deeply that the solution is rarely more products.

What you need is a better foundation. And that foundation starts the moment you turn on the water.

I created The Ritual because I kept watching people blame themselves for problems that weren’t their fault. You don’t need more steps. You don’t need a more expensive routine. You need clean water — and a daily ritual that actually supports your skin and hair instead of silently working against them.

Cloak & Sage is proudly woman-owned, based in San Diego, and built on one simple belief: clean living should feel as refined as it looks.

“Clean isn’t just a task. It’s a lifestyle. It’s a ritual. And now, it’s yours.”
